We don't do a lot of weddings, and I am a planner. I am looking for inspiration for her tables, and am finding none. Her colors are the popular green and chocolate. The wedding will take place at my house in the country (think upscale Little House on the Prairie). Tables will be sitting on green grass under white tents. Still working on the lighting as well. I see this as a way to show people in my town what we can do; currently most of the wedding planners use florists 50 miles away. In my 3 years of ownership of this 50+ year old shop, we've only done personal flowers. Some intermittant parties, but nothing much. This is important. Help! I need photos....

my daughter got married in Sept and reception was under a tent also. We used oasis wreath rings with large glass vases in the middle with soy candles inside. Not sure if I can get the pic here but will try (it may be small) The candlelight inside the tent was wonderful after sundown. The glass we used was amber colored but I'm sure there is green in similar. nope, sorry don't have the pics anymore on this pc.

Last year when I was at Aprils' we did an amazing wedding.

It was done in blue and white and hints of green and brown.

We glued birch bark on to glass cylindars as well as mossed cylindars, then tied bark wire around them. To hold the bark and moss in place we used super 77, and AMAZING PRODUCT! I will never go back to tack 2000!

Anyway, I loved those containers. Very VERY country chic!!
If I was designing this wedding, and I could do what ever I wanted I would use green hydrangea (the big ones) Brown artichokes, Brown uluhe, Green cymbidium orchids, schwartzwalder callas, some dog eye, green hanging amarathus, jade or green tea roses, some petaled brown eye sunflowers, and for accents, chocolate cosmos. I would do big lush center pieces in 8" short cylindars. Some would have moss some would have bark. What I would NOT do is "polka dot" my flowers in the containers. I'm liking my flowers grouped as of late, especially gardeny arrangements- regardless if its tall or compact. I also think I'd run some curly willow over the top maybe... I'd have to play with it!!!

Don't know if this will help. This was from a wedding last October. Wasn't in a tent, this is just the centerpiece. It was a 12" oasis ring, with 2 different size cylinder vases. Used all sorts of different materials in the rings, no two were alike.

PA170087_1.jpgI've seen "chandeliers" done also with a series of different size wire wreath rings, bound with twinkle lights. Would be cool if you could bind leaves and twigs on them. They get suspended from the ceiling.
We also used a lot of wheat for "bows" on the head table, but my camera died, and the photographer hasn't sent me the copies I ordered yet!

Check out this wedding publication. http://www.wellwed.com
It has great design ideas and several of the weddings are always tent weddings. There are 4 regional publications - none for your area but you can adapt the Vermont and New York ideas to your location. I buy the magazines themselves. Far more useful than the website.

Pay my flight and I will be your imported florist from another country!

Green hyfrangea. green dendrobium orchids, callas......how about a twig wreath!

Visit show room or tradeshow and see what is available in supplies.
You have the chance to make things happen at cost.
