Maybe it was the mini-meltdown today.
Maybe it's the way my hair is frazzled, even thought it isn't raining.
Maybe it's the crazy look in my eye, or twitch in my cheek.
Or the talking to myself, probably that for sure.

Who knows. All I know is hubby ordered me to take Thursday off, all day, just for me, even though we're taking off for the 4th of July weekend.

those who know us, know I'm not much the order-taking type, but he meant bizness!

After working 7 days, for all of spring, winter & fall, I need it!

Oooo what to do, what to do! Sleep in, go to the gym, haircut, shoe shopping (remember in January when I asked about shoes - still wearing the squeaking boots here), a lazy afternoon on the beach ............... a nap.

yay - can't wait till thursday! Even anticipating the day has improved my mood, and it surely needed improving ;)

Good for you!! Have FUN!!

My vote is do NOTHING! I haven't had a day off in three months. We don't have anything big going on this week and I had 3 employees cleaning and organizing the shop. It felt so weird to have the shop operating without me, but I slept in today.

Not only did I sleep in till 9am, but I enjoyed trashy daytime TV until 2pm while in my PJs and eating pizza in bed. The kitties were happy that I was home for once. I still went in at 4 so I was ready for a 6pm consult, but to me that's a day off and much needed!

Enjoy your day. Don't feel like you have to fill the schedule hour by hour. Just shut off the alarm and veg in your pjs. It's very therapeutic!

Must be the week for it. My day came on Sunday, and I knew I had the day off, no kids, no hubby, no running to do and mentally had these plans of all the things I should do..... but no.

I ended up like Mocha, in PJ's! I lounged around and read a book, the first one in at least a year, and didn't even get dressed until 2:00pm. Fluffed up the couch pillows and settled back in! No responsiblity, no chores, no phone. It's good for the body and mind. Glad your getting yours ~Enjoy the day!!!

There is little point in racing to the finish line of life without stopping to enjoy the cool stuff along the way. It's something you learn when you know that line is moving ever closer.

So my dear Tracy... don't barrel through anymore. Enjoy the moments as you catch them.

Your husband is a good compass.

funny thing is, my employees are REEEEEEAAAAAALLLLLLY happy I'm taking the day off, even though it means more work for them. Must be I'm not as good at hiding my stress as I think I am. lol

Though the thought of doing nothing is tempting, I really need to do some stuff to make me feel human again. The nice thing will be it will be done leisurely, as if I have all the time in the world. I'll save the "nothing" for another day - maybe one of our weekend days in pj's w/hubby too. ;)

13 more hours till I'm free for the day!

I have a great friend....I freelanced for him for a while last year. His shop hours run from 9 am to 8 pm ....... six days a week.

His boyfriend comes up every weekend and on Sunday's, the bf makes sure that my buddy gets out and has some fun and does something to relax.

Perhaps some of you might want to dollow that example and set aside one day a week for yourself.

what a nice day I had, other than the dr appointment in the AM, the day was leisurely. So this is what it's like to be not at work - I'll have to make it a regular habit.

Forgot I was taking off & set my alarm for 6 - oh the joy of just turning it off! Hubby brought me breakfast, while I watched a movie & puttered 'round the apt cleaning & playing with the cat; then off for errands.

Finally got some shoes - Dansko slip on clogs, Ariat slip on clogs, Ecco sneakers, high arch ortho inserts for any shoe & a pair of fancy schmancy socks that are supposed to grind down my witches' skin heels. We'll see - but the shoes are way more supportive & comfortable than anything I've worn before. Thank you Walking Company store & a very very helpful salesperson - they sold every brand mentioned in the shoe thread, except Merrells.

Then more shopping - got lost finding the mall - I've only been there twice in 5 years. :dunce

Even though my day wasn't spent doing nothing, it was refreshing to spend the day on myself, at my pace, instead of racing to get back to the shop, or home, or to a meeting.

ya know, I almost stopped @ your shop on the way back from my shopping trip yesterday - it was just before 6 & I took 9 instead of the parkway. But hubby was waiting w/dinner, so next time. And I DID stay off FC, didn't even touch a computer yesterday. Except the foot pressure measuring thingy, and Wii. :tongue

Glad you enjoyed your day...all of us work to hard..we are flower junkies...I am closing Sat and have made sure that pj's are cleaned and ready for a looong weekend..lots of books to read and unplugging the computer...well, maybe unplugging it
Have a great weekend all
