is going to die.....I nearly made a mercy run down to Pompano Beach last night to drive him home, as he is too weak to drive, and we made a decision with his wife Kathy,to put him on a flight from Ft.Lauderdale, to Toronto, to Moncton, New Brunswick...so that he can be at home.....I'm gonna close up early, and hopefully catch him at Toronto Airport...between connections.
We all know this day is coming, but, this is gonna be hard....:purpletea:purpletea
 
May his last moments be filled with the knowledge that he not only has family to care for him, but obviously a good friend. I'm so sorry for your impending loss.

Such losses seem to be all around right now ... thoughts and well wishes,

Two minutes to Pompano and a phone call away from Toronto..let me know what I can do...Does Kathy need anything..did she fly with him? Is everything closed up etc etc....call me

There never seems to be the right words for such pain and loss. I'm sure your strength and support has eased some of the families pain in a profound way. We all should be so lucky to have a friend like you. NOTHING is more important in situations like these. Be as strong as you can be and know that FC'ers are praying for you, Peter, his family and friends. Life is pecious and so is every moment we have with the ones we love. Hang in there.

Did you catch Peter between flights? How are you feeling? Are you okay? Of course, there's nothing more important that you could have been doing this afternoon, than being with your friend. Let us know if you're okay.

Mikey, please know that you, Peter, and his family are in our prayers. How I wish that you did not have to travel this road, but how precious that Peter has such a friend as you to help make this journey more endurable! God bless you, Mikey.
 
Friday, I have tears in my eyes. Why, I am not sure. I know Mikey and his relationship with Peter. Mikey has done many things for him, even move him to New Brunswick.
Why the tears? I am not sure. I do know that I have seen people who have worked long hours in their business and when they decide to retire and enjoy life and something else happens to them.
THere is a lady who owed a restaurant in Elliot Lake. She sold it 2 months ago. They found a tumour last week and operated on her and she is also showing sign of cancer on her lungs. SUcks, because this is the time she is suppose to live now with her husband....

Prayers and throughts are with you Mikey and Peter and his family. May the strenght be with you all.

We are thinking about you from down here ....

and the prayers for Peter will be strong as I only have to send them an hour away. Look after yourself and be strong.
 
My thoughts are with you, Mike, I know exactly what you're going through.

This morning I got a call from my friend Elana's husband, she's been battling breast cancer and had been responding well to treatment (or so we thought). She thought she'd caught a flu bug and hadn't been eating much the last two weeks - intense pain took her to the hospital yesterday. Apparently her intestinal tract is just riddled with cancer, they don't think she'll make Monday. This sucks large, she's 36 years old.

Audra, I'm sorry to hear of your friend's battle. I pray the end is quick so she can be free from pain.

My mom died of cancer at age 56, one year before I had my triplets. She never knew any of my kids. I'm so sorry for Elana... that is just WAY too young.

Thanks for your thoughts, it's always hard to lose your friends - they're the family you pick. I received word this morning that she passed peacefully at six this morning.
