Mikey asked...so here are some pics of my "Summer Vacation"...Begun July 12th, it was 9 weeks to the day (longest vacation I have ever had) from the first hammer til we were back to cooking in doors...

Never thought I would get tired of grilling out, but we did...never thought we get it finished, and we have not...still have some finish trim work and paint touch up to do, as well as complete the beams and a few tweaks...

I'll try to get them together in the "before and after" format...but if not...oh well...first the before...

What a transformation. . . .

Looks GREAT.
I loved seeing the snow shovel holding the plastic curtain back.
It's been awhile since my hands have held one of those.

I know you are going to enjoy your born again kitchen.

If you're free next summer, a vacation in Alabama might do you good. . . . . .bring the DeWalt.

Oh. . .and I love the beams.

Oh. . .and I love the beams.
Thanks...much... the beams are not quite done yet, they are getting completely wrapped in Stainless Steel... still waiting it's arrival...

Not sure I could stand another vacation like this one ;)

What a job! Looks great! Can hardly wait to see the pictures of the finished product.

Mark.....

:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:
It looks a very happy room, you and Cherie are gonna enjoy it more than you think!!
In renos past, we've covered the exposes joists with everything from drywall, to ceramic tile, to teak & redwood, but, NEVER stainless...what an absolutely wonderful idea!!
Word of caution....pretty sure you would have anyway....when turning the ceiling "cathedral" hope you left air space ABOVE the insulation, and need outdoor venting at the eve, AND at the roof crest.
IS THERE ANYTHING you cannot do??:thumbsup

Thanks Mikey... and yes, full soffet openings, with Corning Cobra Vent at the peak...

As to your last comment... still working on controlling Bloomz...but..well you know ;)

Wow Mark, WELL DONE!

Hey, A bubble lamp/table cigar would fit right in... :)

Mark, what an awesome job...on the last fifished pic in the shot across the island, what are the three doors...
As to another vacation, after having three"kitchen" guys come to my house in the past two weeks and seeing that they cannot even draw, I am willing to offer you a 'real vacation" with just tad bit of redo....and Sawgrass Mills is close by to keep Cherie entertained! You really did an outstanding job...I am duly impressed!
Sher....headed back to my little old fashioned itchen for a cup of instant coffee....yuck

Awesome job, Mark!

I will not be showing these pics to Janis - she's been after me to redo our kitchen ever since we moved in 2 years ago. I don't think she remembers I have no skill with the home reno stuff! I offered to Photoshop her kitchen into something nice, but I don't think it had the same effect.

Enjoy the new kitchen! Looks great :)

Ryan

Thanks...and I **might** be available to ***you*** ;)

The 3 doors, on the left (wood) are the top of my desk... the 3 doors (glass) are actually one door in the center, with side lites that open with screens.

Are you planning to add 'contractor/remodeler' as your fourth or fifth business? ;)
Or is it sixth/seventh? Nope, don't think I would do this for someone else...can't yell at customers ;)

Nice! Love the contempo tile backsplash. Your old kitchen looks like my old kitchen, right down to the floor tiles.

you're hired.

For the back splash ... www.glasstile.com then "custom Blends" fun to play with web site....they are 1" squares....glass...the red is clear, the black and bronze are not...black grout.

Thanks...and as to the "hired" part... ya can't afford me ;)
