Has anyone been fortunate enough to witness the Cherry Trees in bloom?
I proposed to Marcy in the evening on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the Festival.

Thanks Thom....that was BEAUTIFUL! One of the prettiest things about Cherry Trees is the contrast between the dark, dark bark and the pale pink blossoms. What a glorious sight!

My daughter's High School has MANY Cherry Trees on it's campus, and when the blossoms finally fell on Friday, it looked like the ground was covered in pale, pink snow. It was amazing!

The spring in the Washington metropolitan area is what I miss the most! Being a transplanted Marylander, I miss the beautiful cherry blossoms, dogwoods, azaleas, rhododendrons. Here the azaleas are puny. I had a neighbor lady in College Park that had the MOST beautiful azaleas- different colors imagineable, that were shoulder high. Our dogswoods at the house that I grew up were awesome. The ones I have here are really sad in comparison. I have a terrible time with azaleas here too. OMG this is making me homesick!
