Need help from people who live in Sourthern Ontario

Dear Fellow Florists,
I am researching places where I can send a young mother and her 3 year old son for a trip of a lifetime. Tanya, the young mother I spoke about in a earlier thread, will be starting her treatments this week. I think this trip may not happen till late Aug, or Even Sept. So I need locations that is open during this time. Again this all depends on her treatment and how strong she is going to be. I have thought of Niagara Falls Marineland, Lion African Safari, THe Toronto Metro Zoo, Canada Wonderland., but I need to know from you if you know of more place I could look at and offer this young mother.

P.S. NO Mikey, Working in a flower shop in Dundas is Not a suitable location for her to visit....

Luc ... depending on the results of our condo sale, we may have a place for them to base their adventure in August. I'll have more info as it happens.

Hi Sue,

Yes Sue we are accepting contribution. A friend of mine in Elliot Lake and myself are organizing this. We are meeting with Tanya tomorrow morning. We hope and we must play it by ear at the moment, that when she finishes her Radiation and CHemo, eventually she would be strong enough to make this trip. There is a organization in Southern Ontario called Dream Wish for Adults, that may be able to get help from. Because she will need another adult with her, we would have to cover that cost of the trip. WE would also like to send them with some spending money. Any extra money we raise we will use for her if need be to cover some unexpected medical cost that we can't find funding for. After this, any extra money will be in trust for her son for when he goes to college in later years. WE have many organizations in Elliot Lake where we can tap into. We will be writting a letter campain to these clubs. Also, on July 9-10-11 weekend. We have a DRAG races at our airport. Usually there is about 6,000 people attending. Our mall association usually puts in a tent for any mall merchant who wants to participate. My friend has a slushie machine that he is willing to lend us for that weekend. We hope to sell something else and try to raise as much as we can on that weekend. We will also be contacting our Newspaper and Radio for any stories they can publish and asking for donation from the public. ALL of this money will go in trust for her and be controlled by Myself and Jack, my friend.
We will be having a meeting with all her friends that is willing to help us. I will post on going reports for eveyone. SO any information is greatly appreciated.

Our house will be....

empty around that time...she'd probably be welcome to it for a base of operations, as we are central to all the things you are thinking of, and already have a couple of names that would likey be willing to chaperone and sightsee guide!!
We too are helping a couple of people going through exactly that.......
