The city has organized for June 17th a showcase of I think up to 200 antique cars on the main in front of the our shop and i'm wondering if I should do something special in the window and if so what? It's a one day event so I don't want to spend tons of money on this.
Any ideas???

Hi there, we had a tyre for fathers day 2 yrs ago, it was a big hit with all types!

Love that tire idea for a quick, effective display!

Okay, how cute would that tire be, as a container for a hanging basket? Hanging from the front porch, like a rope/tire swing, and draping sweet potato vine, petunias etc. Maybe we'll do one up for the front porch ......

Want to bet how heavy one of those "hanging baskets" will wind up weighing? I know I won't be lifting them! :)

I can just imagine 50 of tires hanging from my greenhouse trusses.

C'mon, Really? More than some of those lovely beldon pots/moss pots/14" coco planters? I could use a smaller tire, say from a really little car ... I think my old Chevy Sprint was a 13" tire. I'm guessing 30 pounds, made up. Or really really little tires, from those garden wagons that have rubber wheels...... Still would be cute!

Do you think if I have tires hanging from my front porch as hanging baskets, I have to have a bathtub and toilet in the front yard as planters also?

Got you beat, I have a clawfoot cast iron tub in one of my fence rows. It is used as a watergarden! ;)

Oh, btw, i think old Yugo's weigh less than some good ol' American Made tires! :)

Thanks for the ideas guys. I've been away for the last two days with the stomach flu and still having to work (not good) because we have two weddings and an engagement party today, life is rough sometimes...
I like the idea of having planters but city bylaw doesn't permit us to and unfortunetly in front of our building the sidewalk is quite narrow. I could however maybe hang some planters in the window??? hmmm, I wonder if our century old ceiling could support them???
Thanks for the ideas, keep 'em coming.

Ideas for window display

How about buying some antique toy cars and adding flowers in those? You could have a few in your window and reserve a few for selling. You could make enough money off the sale of those mini cars with flowers in them to pay for your window display and potentially profit from the sales...

Just an idea!

It can only be "Wine by Joe"! an Oregon Pinot Noir!

Hmmm, never heard of Wine by Joe, but it's only about an hour south of us. Gonna have to try it! Is it good, Joe?
