I need ideas for 2 arrangements for a Taste. Our garden club does one every year and for the past 10 years I have made arrangements for the same two tables. The venison and wine tables. I am running out of ideas. I asked if they could please give me different tables, but they reuse the signs from year to year, so. The signs state the florist and cater together. This is a freebie, so I really don't want to spend a lot of money. I have plenty of things in my yard, but they will be completely bloomed out by then. I'm just burnt out on this one, any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

How about a sculpture made of flowers for one of the tables. I got burnt out on a local bridal show and I decided to make a bust of flowers with a bouquet sitting next to it. The bust was a big hit and I had fun making it. Of course I used inexpensive flowers like carns and poms.
Just a thought.

Have you used grapes yet? Try mixing them with gerbera and lily for the wine table.

There is a nice christmas picture in the gallery with a buck for the venison table.

I would go for grapes draping also, with maybe sliced fruit either in a vase or chopped in half and then used for depth.

How about some tall spikey flowers like delphinium or gladiolus for height and then group some other choice flowers either side with some amaranthus trailing??

For the wine table - Visualize a large greco-romanesque style footed urn.......perhaps elevated on a small corinthian column pedestal......In the urn a profusion of grapes encircling the rim with some tall florals in the center.

For the venisen table - Visualize a long design with all kinds of mosses, fungi, leafy branches.....and faux deer nestled in the wooded copse.

Or, a glass bowl held in a tripod of deer antlers with a profusion of wooded branches, mosses, assorted fungi and lichen and perhaps a few bright blooms of summer......peeking through the wood.

These sound scrumptous...Love the ideas...and the wooded ones especially...

You can always use the deer from your Christmas displays on the venison table. Another idea might be to use antlers in a creative arrangement with earthy components.

Wine table....just for a change.....use several wine goblets each filled with interesting little tidbits and finish off with a wine decanter with matching design.

Thanks for the ideas, I really like the tripod idea and I have some fake deer antlers that would work great. Also the wine goblets idea, I had thought about that, but didn't think it would be enough, but if I also did the larger arrangement it might work. Had also thought about wine bottles of different sizes with maybe callas or gerberas with funky greens and filler. Thanks for the ideas.

If you want larger goblets and glasses - Accent Decor has some, A chain store called World Market has some, You might can google - Giant Martini Glasses and see what comes up.

Also try this resource - I use it all the time. http://www.shopwiki.com/ to search for online merchants of a particular item.

We have these tall glass candleholders for centerpieces that look like wine glasses... ok, wine glasses for giraffes. But wineglasses nonetheless. I could see them with grapes coming out of the top and at the base.

I may be out in left field, but I like it here, I think I'd do something that has NOTHING in particular to do with wine or deer.

I'd do just an over the top design that will make people stop and say...."Would ya look at that"

One thing I wouldn't do is send heavily scented flowers to a tasting.
