Flower Council Images offers right-free flora pictures
22 April 2012
Earlier this month the Flower Council of Holland unveiled its new online ‘image bank’, featuring freely downloadable professional pictures of flowers and plants. The impressive database, called Flower Council Images, is accessible by any breeder, producer, trader, or journalist active in the sector.
The online image bank – available at www.flowercouncil.org/images - already contains more than ten thousand high-quality photographs and impressions, and more keep being added. The royalty-free images were used by the Flower Council for promotional purposes, but have now been made freely available to sector participants. A one-time request for access is all that is required.
The new Flower Council Images replaces an older and somewhat out-dated image bank which the Council managed, called Picture Service. The new system has been optimized for effective use, emphasizing simplicity, customizability and comfort.
The images can be downloaded in various formats and resolutions for example, depending on their intended use. An elaborate search function has been included as well, making it increasingly easy to find exactly what you are looking for.
The website is also available in various languages, facilitating its use by journalists from international publications.
