Could someone list the reasons concisely why it is NOT necessary to have 3 wire services. In this new shop I'm working at they have Teleflora, FTD and Bloomnet. Their theory is that they are getting lots and lots of orders. They haven't figured out what their costs are for the wire services. They send out but very very few orders.The Bloom Net orders are always underpriced and we have to ask for delivery 9 times out of 10.
The owners do not have any flowershop experience. When they bought the business they relied on the former owner who remained on as the designer. (He was going to lose the shop because of mismanagement etc.... lots of debt. Needless to say that arrangement didn't work out and they let him go. LONG STORY).
I thought if someone here could enumerate all the reasons NOT to have more than one wire service and perhaps develop their own web page they might understand it better.
So far they are grateful for all the work I've been doing for them.And they are eager to learn and make changes, and sorely needed updates. But I can't make them understand about wire services.
