I have a bride who wants a fresh bird of paradise bouquet like the picture I have posted here. Based on the size of the holder, do you think that this is a silk bouquet? Can this be made in fresh? If so, do you individually take the birds apart and re-assemble into its holder? I have never had anyone ask for anything like this and since I am in WV, we don't have a lot of people asking for birds of paradise bridal bouquet! LOLbirds bouquet.jpg

Pat, I actually think they are real. I can see a pod that looks pretty real to me, artificial usually look "nicer". I honestly think you are going to need a BIG pita fee! LOL

After thinking about it, I believe I would use perhaps three actual stems as a base. Then take individual blooms and wire them to create the bulk of the bouquet as a hand-tied.

The image is small but it looks like real florets to me. Probably take around 30 open birds to get it done. Lots of time for the hand-wiring, too. Price range $300-450 depending on your local costs. Make sure to check out availability for her wedding day season. (BOP are out of season all the summer months in CA so your cost could be for imports.)

BTW, that shot looks great but I really question how the bouquet will look when carried in a classic style in front of the gown. Large and almost weapon-like.

It is striking the way it is shot, I would wonder also how that translates at all angles...I believe that this is structured much like a composite flower...maybe 3-5 actual whole stems of birds then glue in all the extra florets no holder...just my thoughts on construction...cool bokay though...expensive as heck..

You know looking even closer to it they may have included in some parakeets to fill in the middle some...that might cut down costs and the PITA of getting 30-40 very open and very ripe birds...
