Need your comparisons please

Our marketing firm has decided we needed a new website. Would you please look at both of these and let me know here (so I can print out the thread) as to your observations on both sites and which one you think is better as a "member" or a "consumer"

i like the clean lines and the find a florist at the top right out front for the consumer.

It's Maine Florists' Association. They say they want to make it consumer friendly as well as member friendly (I say they are just taking our money IMHO)

ahhh, i just seen your personal one Rhonda, the penny drops. It sometimes takes a while lol.

I would say number 2 seems to be an easier layout although there is much that could be done to improve it aesthetically.

If I have to pick I would say No 2, but I'm not totally struck on either. 2 is definately more modern,but lacking fun and inspiration. It would have been nice if you could have a picture and mini write up or something at the side of your businesses, just to show the consumers a quick snapshot before they go onto your website. It doesn't look like value for money. It is just a link.

Definately #2, It drew me in, without overwheling me with confusing text like #1 did.
The floral pix in #2 drew me to it, and the movement on #1 floral did not. In fact the movement repelled me.

I think the internet public wants simple, without flash.

I like the 2nd one better as well. It just seems like less reading to get the info you want.

I definitely like #1
I like it because it is an information site and everything is easy to find. I hate going to a site and having to look all over for information. Site #1 has it all there easy to quickly see. Clean, uncluttered, easy navigation.

I like # 2 only because it looks fresher and more modern. #1 has some very clear info..maybe just some tweaking would help and keep costs down.

The look of number 1 is old fashioned, IMO. It looks amateurish compared to number 2. However, I like the information on number 1 better.

Rhonda, I like the first one because it grabs your attention immediately and you can access the info right away. Nice job.

I like the layout of #1 more but the colors of #2 work better. The first is just dated looking, try freshening it up with the good stuff from the second.
