Dear flower friends,
I am needing to know how to make a whole money corsage. They are wanting it to be all money except for the leaves, ribbon. I am just unsure how to make something like this. If anyone can help me out or give me suggestions I would truly appreciate it.

I don't know quite how to explain this, but, I make the dollars look like roses by the way I shape them. Someone else can probably explain better. It takes a little practice to get it looking right.

I see you are from Missouri. That's my home state and I am spending next week up there near Aurora and Columbia.

Oh OH I know this! Take the dollar bill and fold lengthwise down the center - roll up one end until you have a small "stem" then fold remaining sides backwards, and back again until you create a rose... ... Then tape with floral tape.. then you can wire and tape again.

Here's a picture of what one of the dollars looks like folded into a flower:

To fold the dollar bill like this you have the dollar sideways so the length runs up and down, fold into a fan shape. when you have it all folded take a thin wire and secure it around the center, leave long and you'll have your "flower stem".

It will look like a bow tie when you're done. Take the top fold on each side and put them together and staple, do this for the bottom as well. You will now have your "flower".

Make as many as you need and then make your corsage.

Just a word of caution about money corsages....

Do not provide your own bills, especially ones with large denominations. Have the customer bring the bills to you if at all possible (unless you know them really, really well.)

If they pay with a check and it bounces, or if they pay with a Credit Card and they later deny payment, you are out not only your time and product, but your cash - so accept cash payment only.

Money corsage orders have been used by scammers over the years to rip off many a flower shop.

I can't find the site now but I just typed in money corsages and I had to scroll thru but I found a site that showed how to make the money look like roses. You folded then rolled the ends over a pencil to make it looked curled.

Thanks. I must have been typing my post when you posted. I didn't get to read your post til after.

We did this project for a credit union, their 50th anniversary.

I was gonna say the EXACT same thing!

Thank you to everyone for the ideas. They are all great! I think I will be able to put this together now, & yes, they have to bring their own money & it will be marked to make sure it's not counterfeit. Hope everyone has a great mother's day.

This was a video that got as an email that might help you out for making money roses.
It was a www.ubloom.com JTV one: Look up Ribbon Roses Feb 23,09 . J starts with making the ribbon roses and towards the end of the video shows how to make one with a dollar bill. Check it out. Hope this helps )
