I attend all design sessions sponsored by our State Association and especially love the little "goodie bags" they provide. Catalogs, magazines, sample packs from companies like Stemson's, Syndicate Sales, etc.
I have 8 corsages to make from single carnations for an organization today and dislike having to do a single carnation without water. They just don't last looking good for the entire evening and I am out of corsage stems until tomorrow (use them for all our bouts). Soooo....I took the "sample packs" from Stemsons which had stephanotis stems and orchid tubes with cotton and wire samples and wound a piece of cotton on the tip of the wire, taped with tape and voila made the eight corsage stems......
Never, Ever, throw away any samples!! BTW, if you see the sample packs from Smithers Oasis that they have in the trade mags....send in for them. Great way to diversify your corsage pins, deco wire, etc.

Those ROCK! We have gotten two of them and I was impressed with both "kits". I would order one, or more!, a month if I had the chance!!!

Something that I recycle -

Those plastic test tube's that you get with orchids and anthuriums, I cover them in sisal and coloured wire and use them for single roses. Worked really well on valentines day for single boxed roses! Really finished them off!
