I am dumbfounded- had a florist call this morning to send flowers to a residence. She said the recip was not well at all.
This was the message we were told to put on the card:
"name" dear,
Go quietly to a better place.
Love,
"senders name"

I'm really at a loss-never saw this one before...kinda creepy!

Have never seen that one before, but we did have a request once to make a telephone in flowers with the script reading "Jesus is calling". That pretty well floored all of the staff. Gudrun

Maybe it was sent to a woman in a domestic violence situation.

Guess I didn't make myself clear, the names were filled properly . What got me was someone telling the person who was already near death to go on and drop dead(!) through the magic of flowers...long distance!

It creeped me out Lorrie... as did Gudrun's experience.

I wonder though, at what point does one refuse to do an order... if indeed there is a point.

Many times dying people need someone to tell them that it is o.k.to let go, and basically let themselves die. They need to know that their family or loved ones are ready for it. They will hang on and hang on until they are told it is o.k. That is what I think this friend or family member was trying to say. Cancer patients especially go through this.

Gives rather a new dimension to "Say it with Flowers" doesn't it. I told my Mom it was ok to let go... but I said it to her quietly and privately.

Flowers paint a thousand words that sometimes people can't. That was a line in our commercial last year.

Knifes Wife

That's a beautiful line and it speaks volumes. I guess my point is, let the flowers speak the volumes in some cases... leave the card out, or just sign it with love.
