From an FTD product:
Same day delivery by an FTD® Florist is available in most areas of the U.S. and Canada on orders placed as late as 5p.m. in the recipient's time zone Monday through Friday (earlier times may apply to some areas).
Click on the Delivery Policy tab.

The florist or delivery carrier will leave the package if no one is home and a signature is not required.
Is this for real?

Also, are FTD florists really delivering 15 tulips in a FREE VASE for $39.99? Guess there aren't any takers in our area since the shopping cart says they'd arrive here via FedEd, UPS or DHL.

I saw the promo on the tulips with the free vase and was surprised it showed "same day delivery". But then I didn't do a go through on trying to order it..no FTD shops here anymore.
There were a couple of other "free vase" offers too.

Hi Cathy,

Great catch with this.
As an FTD shop, still on the ropes, this made my night.
I love blatant WS lies and intentional deception as you know!
If they have agreements with member shops to accept orders
as late as 5 PM that is certainly news to me.
Must be another selective practice.

I'll rattle some cages tomorrow morning !

This is not in any of the catalogs, so I think this item is for drop ship only. This is very similar to the Florist.com and FTD Best Sellers programs. As you probably already know, an FTD florist must specifically sign up to receive these orders. FTD's reasoning for the low price is that these arrangements are intended to be low in labor.

5pm is a joke...right? I don't even take that from local customers...

The *Signature not required* has been part of their delivery policy for a few years now....the shipping companies don't even require one here when they walk in my door and drop the boxes on my toe.

We have taking local orders as late as 4 for years for same day delivery. but with gas prices soaring we are are going to go to a much earlier cut off so that we are not sending a van out 4:15 with one item on it for delivery. Our cut off for wire orders has always been and will remain 2 PM.

But if we get a complaint of non-delivery, the first thing they want to know is if we had a signature at the time of delivery???? Who signed for the delivery??

We cut off most people by 12:30 for same day, unless it is in the immediate area. My truck leaves at 12:30 for all of Indianapolis. We can't run a truck to the east side of Indianapolis unless we get a huge delivery charge. A single delivery that is a 40 minutes drive one way with the possibility of getting stuck in rush hour traffic? Not doing it. We will service 2 funeral homes up till we close, service 2 others up until 3 and service within our immediate area until 3 or 4.

Is that overcharging? We just did 20 tulips in a vase for $45.00.

We also do deliveries on our way home if it's a reasonable request.

Jason -

The $39.95 translates to less than $28 to florists who make and deliver the item. Add in the FTD 7-day freshness guarantee (that really can't be met on tulips) and your replacement delivery will put you in the negative.

It's going to be more than 80 degrees with less than 20% relative humidity here for MD. So for that reason, we've pulled most of the tulips off our site for the holiday.

Would that be considered a member-benefit?

Crap! I just let my dog outside and almost froze my dinger off! It's still getting close to freezing at night here.

Crap is right - I just went for a motorcycle ride and got caught in a Hail Storm.

That stuff stings like a beatch!!!

I just got one of these orders today, a blooming brillance bouquet with a free vase, for 49.99. The website shows 39.99 as the SRP and 49.99 with a vase SRP. This would leave my delivery charge where? I sent back a request for delivery fee. No answer. It says w/free vase on my mercury print out.

Out of curiosity, what was the product code for this arrangement?

Hidden messages in the codes ?OMG I'll have to look more closely lol

Honestly, it really does read: FUBlooming Brillance with free vase. I am not signed up for anything as far as I know. Recipe: 3 hotpink gerbera, 3 orange asiatic lilies, 3 rebecca alstromeria stems, 3 solidago, 3 ruscus, one 6.5" gathering vase (syndicate sales #4102-12-09) This recipe including the syndicate sales vase info is listed in special instructions. When you click on the link, you can see the prices w/ and w/o vase.
