Yep tis true... new RE-modeled version....

Working on the ideas for it myself....

When my rep was here he said the next selection guide will be charged each month until it's paid off, something like $15.00 a month. Better than the old way in IMHO. Totals $360.00 and that includes shipping. Think maybe they read the boards and saw the hatred TF got about the selection guide price and shipping? Now I am not insinuating they care as much as I am asserting that this is an occasion for FTD to appear as though they care more. Well, could it be?

Nope...just $$$$$ that is all and anyway you can get it. Those selection guides are good for example but since these pictures are studio and printed in CHINA.....who is the stupid ones?

You mean TF is outsourcing to CHINA? Can't be doing that, after all Senator Kerry might not be able to accept certain donations from certain people who operate a certain company doing that.

Oh what am I talking about, they wouldn't say anything about that last night at the Kerry fundraiser in Beverly Hills.

Sad to say, but Unions have ruined it in America in some industries...

If the selection guide was prinnted here it would be 3-4 times more costly...

Personally I would preffer it on CD (only) and I'll run it on a PC at the desk....

In reading the comments above concerning the new selection guide from FTD, it reminds me that flrorists really don't ask much questions when it comes to dealing with a WS.

For example, am I going to get a better deal if I choice to pay one lump sum payment for the book rather than monthly payments?

If my calculations are correct, $360 divided by $15 is 24 months which is just about the life of a selection guide. What happens if I decide to leave this WS before this book is paid off? Is that book mine or do I have to return it if I terminate? And if I have to return it, do I get a refund for the months I already paid for it or is that money lost? Is it safe to assume that the book is never the property of the florist until it is finally paid for. If so, once it is finally paid for <24 months> it is now obsolete and a new one is needed to replace it and the process starts all over again.

Yes, I know you have to have one. It is part of the rules, but don't you think you should know all the rules first?

That's a REALLY good idea, think how we could buy another computer just for displaying the selectin guide and be money ahead. I think someone said they had something similar once on fb. You could do your own pricing, write your own verbage, hell.

This is just too sane, and "they" will never do it, would lose their cash cow. Just like stopping sending us doorstop directories we don't need nor want.

How's come we can't just say - I don't want that and I won't pay for it, like you could with abut any other VENDOR?

But good idea boss, think they'll listen?

I tried many times to EXPLAIN to both TF and FTD that the directories should be send out by CD only....but hey, I forgot that they need to make MONEY.

Judy:rolleyes:

Never looked at the selection guide on a CD. Might work for some, but sure not for us. What happens if the electric goes out? I'm asking seriously, not sarcastically. Battery back-up perhaps? Are not quite a few customers intimidated by computers? Another serious question.

hmm, laptop and two PC's here...can bring the laptop to them
How can you go wrong at $599 for a Dell? Give me a CD anytime over that darned overpriced, overlooked book.

Hmmmmm

Time will tell... but as it is a $$$COW I won't hold my breath...

And like Peter said many shops do use it, I feel thouugh it should at the least be an opt IN thing !

I found out BOSS that CD was outsourced TOO!
