Hi! My name is Julie and I am a retail florist in Jacksonville, FL. My brother and I own the shop which is 1/2 florist and 1/2 handmade soapmaking....what a combo! We smell great! Was invited to this forum after corresponding with a florist in Oregon about his website. Am looking forward to talking to you all.

Welcome. I make candles in my "spare time" and sell them in my shop.
Love to hear how you divide the two entities. How long has your flower shop been open?

Welcome! I'm considering adding a line of natural, organic, handmade lotions, oils, and soaps to our shop when we move. It would be interesting to know how you market them.

Thanks

Thank you all for responding. I am looking forward to participating in this forum.

Our shop, Curly Willow by Soap Sisters, officially opened in June 2006 as a retail store. Before that, I made the handmade soaps out of my home and sold them for 5 years.

I worked part time at a local florist during that time and 'learned' the trade and how to 'design' from the then-manager there, David who is now my designer here at the retail store. He has 21 years experience and has over 2100 weddings under his belt.

We're doing well and the handmade soaps are a nice compliment to the floral side. We make the soaps here in the shop where they have to cure for 3-4 weeks.

If someone tells me how to post pics, I'll upload some and show you all what our shop looks like....

We carry gifts including flowers, soaps, lotions, bath salts, etc....a very nice combo.

Thanks for the well-wishes!
Julie

Julie....

you'll get a "blast" from being here, just like WE get a blast from visiting just east of Cocoa Beach launching pad.
Welcome to FlowerChat......
