Welcome Luisa!
Your vocabulary is excellent, you must have practiced a lot already! :)

It will be great to hear from our friends in Colombia who grow us such beautiful flowers to sell!

Great. . .maybe now, we can. . . . .

get the inside story on things like weather conditions which always seem to crop up before a major holiday.

Your english seems to be better than some of ours. Yours has not been corrupted yet.

Welcome. . .

Hi Luisa\
I could use some help. I have to do a few large centerpieces for a reception for a new Columbian chef.. and I have no idea what is local to Columbia as to style of arrangements. I get lots of flowers from you but I guess I do not know what style of arrangements you all do for yourselves.

Could you post some pictures of typical centerpieces.?? I even tried to google this..but only got pictures of individual flowers.. not typical arrangments of flowers.
Thanks for the help

Hello Luisa

I like to learn lots about Columbia and probably will ask you about about how it is to grow all the lovely flowers we get to put in arrangements here in UK. When conditioning and unwrapping the fresh delivery I always look out for the flowers that come from Columbia.

Talk to you again when more time....

Hi Erlene

Welcome Luisa!

Hi Erlene, How are you today?
I am sorry for my delayed response; I was on vacation and attending a flower show (Proflora 2007) in Cartagena-Colombia.
I hope with the flowerchat community I could meet many people related with the flower business and practice my English as I mentioned before. Well what I need is to learn more slangs….

Have a good weekend! Luisa

Hi Glenn,
I am really glad to participate in this community.
At this moment all carnations growers in Colombia are focusing in All Saints shipments to Spain clients. Unfortunately this year the market was really bad. We expected to sell at least 2000 boxes of carnations, but some clients cancelled orders. Also the weather did not help us. Well... now we are planning x-mas shipments. This is a non-stop business!

Have a good weekend. Luisa

Hi Carol, I am totally ashamed to see you wrote 2 weeks ago and I could not reply. I was out the town for a couple weeks. Please let me know if you still need the pictures.

Have a nice weekend, Luisa

Morning Petra, How are you today?
Yes! I would like to share my experience working in a Colombian farm. Indeed, we have many clients in UK where we ship lots of spraycarnations. Now we are in the middle of All Saints shipments to Spain and the work is piling up.

I will send you pictures of our farm and storing house. So you can imagine how is the process here.

Have a good weekend, Luisa

Thank You

....All Saints is also quite a big " day for florists in Germany" although there they are making their grave displays with mosses, dried flowers and ornaments made of bark etc...

Suppose Spain observes All Saints as a majority is catholic. Why do you think the orders were down this year for Spain?

We always have Spray cars from Colombia from our wholesaler.
:~)
