New Member from South Africa

Hi there,
I am a florist based in Cape Town, South Africa. I am currently designing a website for florists and industry based professionals within South Africa.

I have been a florist for about 15 years and am origianally from the UK where I had my own business. I am passionate about flowers and the industry in general and I found that when I moved to South Africa the resources and availability of even the most basic of varietals are unpredictable to say the least.

Cape Town in particular is very cut off from the rest of the world and I really feel that florists will enjoy a site where they can be motivated, inspired and informed about what is happening in the rest of the world.

It will be great to ask experts and professionals from other countries about their experiences and environments and pass any appropriate information on to other florists.

Please tell us a little about your florist - are you a retail store, or an event florist? Also, why does your profile say "industry publication" if you're a florist? It has been a very long day here and I am easily confused.

Hi Amanda. I do believe you're the first person from South Africa on Flowerchat. This place grows by leaps and bounds and encompasses so many parts of the world.

I envy you and your beach walks... that's always such a joy for me when I get the opportunity.
