About Me: I am the Operations Manager for UBL. We have designed e-floralink, as the solution for the logistics in transportation and distribution of fresh cut flowers from Latin American to USA.

The application is divided in several modules, that include not only growers and importers, but government institutions in origin countries (ex. Colombia > ICA & Antinarcotics Police) and in destination (USA > USDA / CBP).

Due to current delays due to problems in documentation as in inspection times at destination ports, e-floralink wants to help standarize the logistic aspects of the Floral Industry.

We are in the process of negociating with airlines and other participants, to start operations ASAP.

We will keep you posted.

Everyone is welcome to check us out at : http://e-floralink.com

Welcome to FlowerChat.

Couple things... and I have not looked at your site yet...but...

What do you see as the major problem with the current logistics schedule?

Do you see your company being able to improve the flow through Miami especially on weekend when the level of AG Inspectors is lower?

I look forward to not only checking out your offering, but your thoughts on todays current transportation issues.

Hi, based on our inquires, there are several problems... invoicing done by multiple systems which not always comply with USDA requirements; manual data entry (many times over) at different points of the supply chain; lack of proper box identification; lack of information as far as traceability of product received / interchanged between companies or people involved in the chain.

There are a total of 17 different documents/ reports that have to be issued by growers, cargo agencies, freight forwarders and airlines, that are required by USDA / CBP at the moment of inspection ..... specialy the reports that have to be done by airlines, require extensive labor and information that delay the inspection, which at the same time delay the release of product at destination ports.

Please visit our web site http://www.e-floralink.com/?page_id=42, where you can see in detail the information that the application can supply.

All participants will be able to trace their product throughout the supply chain, and CONFIRM what product has been shipped / received & delivered, and at the same time print or download all reuired documents. Information will be only entered ONCE, populating all documents avoiding errors ..... an hopefuly saving some "trees" in the process.

Interesting....

Anything on product dating in the works?

At this stage there is product dating as an option for the importer, in the labeling for the box / external package. The importer can chose from 5 fields .. date included, to customize a special barcode label that will appear on each label of product shipped to them from any vendor.

Labelling / dating individual bunches (inside box) is planned for a later release

In the next release
