My husband & I own & operate Flowers by David in Langhorne PA.
Twenty years ago, I was a nurse who dated an unemployed florist, and suddenly we were married and running a business! For the life of me, I am not quite sure how it evolved, but I remember that it made perfect sense at the time.
Some days I question the wisdom, but for the most part we are passionate about the business.
We are both on the board of the Delaware Valley Florist Association, and I am on the board of the pool we belong to, so we live the passion for our field daily. We are also major exhibitors at the Philadelphia Flower Show and frequently use that forum to advertise the value of a local florist over internet gatherers to the general public.
Using every opportunity to network with others in our field is what keeps our edge.
