As I said, I have been a florist for 24 years. I was 20 when I started helping out at the flower shop by parents just opened. I left college to begin working for them full time a year later. My mom started to teach to me to design - but very quickly we reallized that I had a natural ability that we need to tap into. I attended Bill Hixon's school. I worked for my parents for the next number of years. My Mom's health begain to fail, she and my Dad took more and more time off, my sister and I took more and more responsibility at the shop. Then just after my daughter's birth, we bought the shop from my parents. Fast forward 13 years, here I am. Still, learning, still wondering if I'm crazy when its 1:00 am the day before Valentine's, and wishing I could be one of the those Moms that get to go to a spa on Mother's day. But knowing I wouldn't really be happy doing anything else.
