Let me introduce myself, Dana Drew, New Florist Designer and Owner of Dana's Florist & Gifts, Crystal Springs, Mississippi. I opened my shop in my home, just part time, and work full time at Newspaper in Mississippi. I have also sold Home Interior and Gifts for seven years and found out the love I have for florial design. I have already helped with three wedding and working into more and professional designs each and every day.
I joined this communtiy to learn and to grow my business. Thanks and I'm looking forward to chatting with you.

Hi Dana,
Please tell us a little more about your shop - do you focus on weddings and events only?
Do you have any previous professional floral experience?
When you say you "helped" on weddings, what kind of help?
Do you have a business license and tax #?
Do you have a cooler for your flowers, or do you work with artificial flowers?

yes.. I do have a business licences abd tax ID #.. I have helped with three different wedding, and I mean by helping, with just the floral designs, I have the center arrangements, all corsages and the centerpieces for the receptions. I focus on the customer's needs in foral designs, weddings, funerals, birthday, general gifts, gift baskets etc. I do not have a cooler at this time, however the wholesaler is close by and convent for quick delivery. I can also provide artifical when requested.
 
Dana, I would also like more info,

what do you mean by just part time? is this just side work for you, is this your passion or did you think it would be "so much fun to be a florist"?

and do you mean to say after helping someone with 3 weddings you decided to open a shop??

also, what do you mean by "working more into professional design"?

have you taken any classes in floral design?
 
Sorry.. This is new to me.. It is a big passon of mine, I started a little on side and now working into a (what I mean by professional) maybe the wording was on that.. full time, however I looking right now into buying a Florist shop, but not able to purchase at this time. I have had my shop thru my home since 2004 and within those years I have provide flowers to three clients. I have had several classes, thru Home Interior and Gifts and also some personal training with other florist shops that I have also worked on the side. Plus online and studing myself, thru books and tapes etc.
