Finally figured out what to do with those small plastic pizza thingies that come in the center of a pizza, you know, the things that keep the box from collapsing on those yummy pies.....besides a small table for a Barbie...

I used 2 today for an anchor for a silk flower arrangement. I made small cuts on the legs to form barbs, but after finishing the design, I don't think the barbs were needed.

Oh, yes, I have a whole bag of "real" anchors too; I think my kids really got a small chuckle from their crazy Mom and this recycling idea (maybe means eating more pizza?)

They also work great for fresh arrangments holding the oasis in place.
Especially with containers that can't be taped.

Wait kids, don't throw that pizza thingy away!!!

I got one for ya.
I KNOW there is a use out there but haven't come up with it yet.

The nets that are on the Fugi Mums.....

we use nets to hold ribbon on the bolt. Works well for chiffons

My Mom uses them to keep her spools of thread tidy. She will take a bunch with her to her quilting guild to share. So if you know a quilter give her some.

Also, balloon bracelets for the little kids

pizza thingy

I learned this trick in design school. Our instructor used the pizza thingy for decorating wedding cakes. He had a thing about putting fresh flowers on the icing. Use oasis glue and glue flowers on the round part. You can even use some ribbon as the base and add some bling too. The legs of the pizza thingy get inserted into the cake and the flowers are flush with the icing then.

As for the fugi nets. I've used them to insert oasis into for pomanders. Also, it's nice to give toddlers a balloon when they come into the store, I tie the long balloon ribbon to the fugi net and they put it on the little tots wrist...they love the balloon bracelet!

Biscotti,

OMG!!!

That has to be the coolest thing I've heard in a while. Can't believe I didn't think of it!!! I cannot wait to do that!!!:bouncy:

nets

We have used the nets by putting them on inexpensive glass balls and spray painting over them to make unique christmas ornaments. If you take them off while the paint is still wet you get one look and when dry, another.

You mean ' Barbie stools" ?!

We have used the pizza thingies for emergency candle holders in arrangements.

We use the fuji thingies to keep ribbons neat, and we use them on tulips and roses to keep them from popping open. The balloon bracelet idea and the cake decorating ideas are super!

We sell willow tree angels and insert them in planters and arrangements. We attach the stool and figurine with a little hot glue it holds the angel nicely.

Barbie stools....um yes, thanks for the chuckle.

Love the ideas! An ingenious lot you all are, thanks. My ribbon will be much neater now, and my wedding cake flowers "flush" (and not with Barbie stools).

A friend of mine bought 50 of them from us (we get the green floral variety) for her cat, he absolutely loves to play with the things.
