Thought you all would find this interesting:

Got a visit from our local FTD rep and she came with another FTD rep that was not from this area. My have been her supervisor, I don't know.

Anyway, they offered us Free membership until next spring. Absolutely no cost to us PLUS they would throw in a box of mixed containers so we would have them to fill their orders.

I told them no thank you but I thought it was interesting to offer all that.

They also offered me the small town deal of $49.95 in which I declined also.

The FTD rep here is very friendly, I just don't like who she works for. :)

$49.95??? hmmm wonder what happened to their $29.99 small town/only FTD shop in town deal??
 
Yeah I got that deal a while back..My rep is super nice too and I apologize to him for who he works for..I gave him a history lesson last time he called so he knows what he is upagainst and so he knows that I know the biz and my history...He was under the impression that FTD was still regarded as what it was years and years ago...to bad so sad...I was very intrigued by the length of the freeness and the amount of the freeness also..
 
Lori, do you have a new rep?? I got notice of one this week, Scott Williams?
 
Yeah...He was new as of a few weeks ago!! That was why I gave him a history lesson...

Maybe that's why we have been having so much of a turnover of FBC's in this territory...... most shops they visit give a "history"..... LOL....
 
I would imagine that bing a ws salesman is a hard sell catagory these days....but really, it is such a giant hassle to get out, that they can offer really any kind of special deal for takers and make up their money in the end...it goes to show you how stupid they know florists are....
 
Each time I have spoken with one of these reps, I still hear the same story about how many orders they will be sending to me. I don't know if they really believe the kind of hyperbole they spew, but apparently it must still work with an awful lot of florists.

This is just insane! Why, why why?
