Has anyone else noticed that Teleflora no longer gives shops an extra $5.00 when requested? If an item came in at a dollar amount too low, I would request an extra $5.00 and get it every time. I started noticing at vd, when I requested the additional amount, I'd get a standard message that if I couldn't fill at the sending amount to refuse the order.
Today, I received an order for the fruit and plant basket. A 4"azalea and 17 pieces of fruit for a total of $51.95. Insane. I requested an additional $5.00 and received the same message to refuse. So, I'm thinking it TF's new policy?

We got that too, we always asked for $3 more. Them not sending us the right amount could cost us hundreds if we filled them to recipe, so we told them if they don't send us the money, the get what they paid for.

I fight almost everyday with the ws (both FTD/ Tel) to give me more money. I travel the whole 2 counties and they a) never send enough for the arrg, and b) never send enough for delivery. I reject them and then they call me. At valentine's day I received 2 paper wireorders and 8 phonecalls for THE SAME ORDER. and I spoke to 3 supers and still no one would give me the requested amount of money. spoke to teleflora hdqtrs and told them this was B.S. and that at what point was someone going to TALK to the sender and explain what needed to be done. so AFTER vday is when i finally filled the order for the correct amount. and made sure I called the recp/sender to let them know exactly WHY she didnt' get her flowers in time....no fault on my end. but yeah, both ws are trying to avoid giving us ANY money on ANY order. wtf?!! trying to figure out how to ditch them both b/c i can't afford to just drop the one.

We have the same problem. Apparently TF's new president is a bean counter and is firmly convinced that the way to make more profits is by never deviating from the established pricing NO MATTER WHAT.

We are routinely refusing almost all TF HQ orders now.

Why put yourself through all that crud...?>?

ASK P MO$$$ or Cancel

Simple as that, if they don't send enough green, they hit the red light in my world....not worth my time, or YOURS to waste trying to fix their mistakes and help them to kill you.

This must explain their "new rule" on their containers as well. We don't usually carry their containers but there are certain ones that I will order. I have received numerous calls (from TF)on the mothers day pink vase.

In the past, they try to sell me the "24" pack. I explain that they are asking me to purchase 2 12 packs because their containers do not come in a pack of 24. I'm put on hold and then they come back to the phone and say okay. When I was called about the pink container I explained I would take 1 pack of 12. I am then told that they are not "releasing" this container in any quanity less than 24. I say okay call me back when I can get 12.

I then speak with another flower shop and we decide that they will purchase the 24 and I'll get 12 from them. We can split and still be codified (in the past, no problem).

I get a call from TF again today about the deadline. I told them that I will be sharing with another florist. I am then told that they are NOT ALLOWING any split codification on this item. Everyone buys 24 or they have to buy a mix box of crap (oops did that slip out). I say no thank you.

Ditto. Zero tolerance here. If not enough $, we send ASK P - price change to what we need or cancel.

You really don't even need to con it. It Con's automatically if you never send one...

You need to put your delivery charges in their directories, this way they will give you the delivery you need.

Drawing a line in the sand about price increases is silly. Wait until the holidays and see how tough they are.

I do agree that some florists take advantage of the situation, but most just want to be paid for what they do--especially when wholesale prices go up on the holidays.

Wonderfulwires

Just remember wire services were designed to help shop to shop orders collect the funds between shops, because us guys weren't to be trusted to pay each other for services exchanged. They evolved into corporations with payrolls and departments. Oversaturating florists, wire companies have huge profits from the ridiculous fees they charge shops under the guise of 'publications'.
I say ask for as much as you need to fulfill an order without strangling yourself and if they cancel the order you haven't lost anything.:argue:

Pat,

We split with another shop and got coded. Doesn't it burn you when HQ isn't consistent with their own "rules"....

Teleflora is sending you less because they are offering discounts to customers who purchase from them and you have to pay the price for TF taking the order. We just refuse them with a message stating they can resend if they agree to the ~delivered~ price we charge our own customers. I refuse to fill any incoming order for less than I would charge my own customer.

We always split a case of 24 containers with another local florist. Quite frankly, I don't give a dang if they code me or not. I've even asked NOT to be coded...that really blows TF's mind! I only purchase 12 of their containers for our local clients who love their containers. I'm not interested in buying them to fill incoming orders for prices lower than we charge our customers. Let's not even get into how their recipes don't make you any money.

Who's working for WHO HERE?

Hardball My Derriere!

Who's working for who here? And at a discount of 30% plus NOTHING to help cover your cost of delivery in REAL 100% DOLLARS, especially when the costs of of gasoline is now at $3.50 per gallon.

What a waste of your valuable time, it's now become, when any one of them, send you an undervalued underpriced order, because they're all in a PRICE WAR amongst themselves now, just to see who can bee, the LOWEST POSSIBLE COMMON DENOMINATOR.

In fact, that's one of the biggest reasons why, we were forced to DUMP both of them since, the Lovely Linda was wasting so much of her valuable time in trying to fix their (too low pre-1984) SRP problems, which began at their POS.

And, as always, it was a problem with their TOO LOW SRPs!

In all cases, it was always the (ask) (P) (New 2008 REALISTIC PRICES)

In the end, we decided that, it just wasn't worth our efforts, and so, we dumped em and reserved that time to devote to OUR CUSTOMERS along with their 100% SALES plus our $ervice charges in REAL DOLLARS, not WS wampum.

As to that FRESH FRUIT BASKET with PLANTS in DIRT? Naw, not on our watch! Sorry folks, but we refuse to mix edible items with dirt, EVER!

That's just a NO BRAINER, EY?

As to the SRP hard-line by their new CEO?

BEGONE FOOL! YOU HAVE NO POWER HERE! Or even better, FILL YOUR OWN JUNK ORDERS YOURSELF!

Alternative plan: Send us an annual W-2 or 1099 as proof that US WEE BEES are ON YOUR PAYROLL, and then, YOU CAN CALL ALL OUR SHOTS!

My office person spent most of her day sending messages for more money, gets message back, cancel order, she confirms cancel. Half an hour later... headquarters calls, can you deliver this to here, yes, we can for this much. Half an hour later... The same order is back at the ORIGINAL price!!! Arggg!!

What a waste of time, paperwork, and paper....

So, we decided that if a headquarters order comes in lower than what we need, we will just reject the order. I know we will get some of them back we always do, but....:tread:

ask for $10.00
Some times though, ten bucks is still not enough...we look up every incoming as priced in our work room manual (I priced it personally) then add the real delivery charge + 27% of the delivery charge and send an ASK for that amount, if we get it we fill, if not...then....
