Raisins and Grapes are toxic to dogs.

Never would have thought twice, but snopes.com confirms it.

Sent to me by a florist friend who knows we love our Bandit (Shi tzu "Official" store greeter).

my first chocolate lab absolutely loved grapes. He did just fine except for the bone spurs in his spine which eventually led to our "pain free quality of life" (not) decision.
Hmm, Oscar has had his share of raisins thanks to the young grandkids.

Lillies are toxic to cats. All parts of the plant contain a toxin that can cause kidney (or was it liver? I always get my offal mixed up) failure in cats, even in just small doses.

wow grapes.

so how do I keep my dog from eating them off the vine?

If you do a search on "Toxic Dogs Foods" - you will find many more than the raisins & grapes
