Hi, all florists who are interested. I have been in the industry for 34 years. I started as a delivery driver and worked up to designer in just about a year. I opened my own shop 4 years later. I owned my shop for 8 years until I decided to settle down and get married, without a 24 hour a day job. Since the last 22 years I have worked at 2 shops here in Temple. I have won many competitions throughout Texas and was the Texas designer of the year in 2001. I have competed on the national level twice and have done stage programs for various wholesalers and wire services. I have designed for Texas State Convention three times and for Wes-Texas New Mexico Convention last year. I have two children ages 20 ans 18 and a lovely wife who teaches high school choir. I just got back from Hitomi's class at the Teleflora Education center in Oklahoma.

Yes she still does, and the next generation is just as good if not better. Christopher is a multi-talented musician, and Elisa will be starting college this fall as a music ed./vocal major. We'll see what happens. Norman
Norman, it's great to have you join us. You have so much knowledge to share.
I can recommend Norman because I have worked with him on shows and with the Texas State Florist Association. I even have judged him a couple of times at contests. I think I was a judge when he won the Texas Cup.

Sorry you were not able to attend the TSFA Convention....I believe they said you were doing a design program elsewhere. I ALWAYS enjoy your design shows, because you are a full time designer that knows what sells in flower shop (alert...bad english). Welcome aboard.

BTW everybody, I told Norman, and the whole class about flowerchat. Norman and I had our work stations right next to each other and we talked and talked on the bus.

I also met BAMA's wife, Kathy, there at Hitomis class, and she worked right across from me!! And I met a lady from Corvallis OR. For a minute I thought she might be Twila, but no. And she worked in front of Norman! Such a small world!
Just glad to see somebody from the class make it here!
