Michigan has just passed a law prohibiting the sale of motorcycles on Sunday.

Personally I don't care, but just tyring to figure out the sense of this new law.

Neal got an email from the secretery of the H.O.G. chapter at Wolverine Harley Davidson of which he belongs and informed him of this because Wolverine Harley Davidson will be closed on Sunday's after the law goes into effect.

I know no one probably cares, and I really don't either, but just boggles the mind. Must be some rich person with pursuasion who gets something out of it.

Yeah, must be that!

That's strange!

That sounds awfully silly to me Patty! Do they sell cars on Sundays? :hammer: Would be interesting to hear the reason for passing this strange restriction. :dunno:

Yes, cars are sold on Sunday. I am waiting for this to come into fruition and then I will let you know, very silly indeed!

Does boggle the mind....

If I was the dealer though... I would not close... Sunday was when I bought 90% of my Chrome :)

Know this is changing the subject a bit, but Patty you were much on my mind as we passed Daytona Beach, FL, last week on a plant buying trip. We saw many, many bikers and bikes. Lots of RVs and trucks pulling trailers. Wondered if you and Neal ever make the trip for the bike rallys?

Because I have MS (multiple sclerosis) I can't ride a long time at once. If we ever go far I drive and Neal rides and when we get there I ride with him . We have not gone very far as of yet. Neal has a couple things wrong with his legs and ankles and it hinders him a little, but not nearly as much as me. He just toughs it out usually, you know men.

Neal & I are both big people so we ride the Honda (Shadow Aero 1100) when we ride together as it has a longer wheel base and if I am not riding he rides the Harley (2003 Road King). We are getting a trailor to tote the two so we can take both when we go on vacation or just about anywhere really. Looking forward to the trailor as it equals freedom for me to ride much more than I do now out of town and state.

Only been to Daytona once and it was late October. Would love to make Sturgis one of these days in the near future as I love that area. Mount Rushmore and the Badlands and more. We'd both ride in the car and trailor the bikes most likely.

August 2001 was the first time I was ever on a motorcycle when Neal got one. He says he created a monster. Everywhere we go I ask, "Are we taking the bike?" He's been riding a very long time.

I love it and never looked back...........:scooter:

Thanks for asking!

OH YEAH, I believe I was wrong, Michigan does not allow you to sell cars on Sunday according to a friend I talked to today, but he was only about 90% sure.

We saw some beauties (bikes, I mean!), and believe me, there was lots of selling on Sunday. It's a shame that Michigan has taken their stance. It seems to me that there would be many merchants up in arms about this one. If you cannot buy the motorcycles, does the law also prohibit the sale of bike related items?

The email Neal received said bikes. The HD Dealership said it would not be worth it for them to be open for only parts and accessories. I'll keep ya posted when I find out more.

The sales dealers should not close if the law just says no cycle sales on Sunday but accessories and parts are permitted...they the sales staff just need to write up the cycle sale on Sunday as an accessory such as prepping services which can be an accessory with a Monday delivery. For every stupid state law there is always a loophole.
