Have a bride that would like the moms to have "corsages" that will be placed on their hip!!!
(OY)
Anybody ever made anything even CLOSE to this idea???
I almost had a fit of the giggles when she was mentioning it to me...All I can picture is this lovely "old wrinkly" with an o-so- wildn'crazy flower piece a-dangling from her hip..........
Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated!!

John Henry Prom Book

There is a picture in the John Henry Prom Book. A Gerb corsage placed at the waist...this would work a little farther down I think. Magnets would be best I think. I hope these women are thin....

Magnets rock. Can't imagine using pins anymore... unless of course there's a pacemaker involved.

On her HIP? Is she on crack?!?!

I have seen this somewhere, perhaps in the John Henry prom book. The dress was sort of gathered to one side and the corsage was fastened in the gathered area. Proper descriptive words escape me this morning.

I made a boutenniere on a safety pin once, for a little tiny baby. They were concerned about an open ended pin. Surely you could use the same technique for the hip corsage, with a larger safety pin. I would caution them about how very delicately they would have to sit, hug, go to the ladies room .... all those things with hips moving about. I also think magnets would slip easily from such an, ummmm, active area. But I could be mistaken about that - I haven't worked with them in so long.

My hips seem to find every obstacle available, but maybe they don't have that problem. ;)

Just wondering if you use magnets all the time now??? Wonder if this would set us apart from the crowd by no longer using pins.. no holes in blouses.. bet the boys would have fun putting these corsages on the girls...lots more 'acceptable fumbling" to put them on.

Tried those Filigree holders with the magnet on the back - Pretty - had a girl put it on her purse and can imagine it would be pretty on the hip

Thanks all...will come up with something..I like the idea of a hidden safety -pin tho...
Have to stop laughing so I can e-mail the bride some ideas....
(and yes, V , tis going to be a MOST unusual wedding) heeheehheeeee
oh my...better go put my "professional" brain and face on .

Carol I've used magnets forever it seems. So much easier than pins, more expensive yes, but when you consider the cost of gowns and the like, the magnet is more than reasonable. And believe me, they don't slip around!
