Now THAT is cold!!!

just came in from my run, and had to wash my hands!!
The COLD water coming from the tap was WARMER than my hands.....my shatterproof glasses fell off when I was almost back home and guess what, ONE LENSE shattered.
I guess I'm gonna hafta go out and cover the Banana trees in my back yard...the LCD thermometer is reading MINUS 19.5 celsius and falling
geez.....

A little nippy here in the far east, as well. 3F when I went to bed last night; 0F at 8:30 this morning in the bright sunshine. I just got off the phone with a woman in Naples, Florida. She complained that it was 45F. So what - the water at the beach is usually in the 70s!

Ah, what a bummer! It was a brisk 70 degrees here today. Sunny and clear. I just can't wait for winter to get over so that it warms up

Ah yes....the joys of no noticeable difference between seasons...same, same and same...nothing to really look forward to. Spring, the tundra swans visiting (only 2 more months), the arrival of red winged black birds, grosbeaks, hummers and more. New life leaping out of the ground...fragrance...MONARCHS!! I can hardly wait.
