"The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet," John Stainton, Irwin's friend and producer who was on board Croc One said in the statement.

"He died doing what he loves best and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind," he said. "Crocs Rule!"

My sentiments exactly. He was a unique character and a gift to the planet.

True ... it's a good way to go. Quick, nearly instant ... and doing your thing.

I often imagined myself going as a result of a freak rose stripper accident.

PS - That's the machine, not a dancer named Rose.

Ryan, thanks for the clarification... although I'm certain that if you did have an altercation with a stripper named Rose, Janis would ensure your imminent demise. ;)
