Just your top 5 for right now. It doesn't have to be definitive and set in stone for the rest of your life.... ;)

These are ones I listen to over and over:

1) For Lovers, Dreamers & Me - Alice Smith.
This girl is the most fabulous bluesy/pop singer, the tunes are catchy; there is not a bad song on this album.

2.) Lost In Space - Aimee Mann.
She is a great writer and I love the lyrics on this album. A little melancholy and just the kind of music I crave in the autumn for some reason.

3.) Anything by KD Lang.
Prettiest voice EVER. Love love love her. She can do no wrong.

4.) The Myth of Red - Sasha Lazard.
Take an opera-type singer and add some some dance beats, make me a happy girl.

5.) A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay.
Well-crafted pop/rock that I find addictive.

Music is so important to my well-being so I have too many selections running around in my head.

From Rock n Pop to Opera with not much country in between, I love music. I studied vocal music in university.

But, I have the Beatles, Queen, k.d., Tom Clancy (poems and music), Pavarotti, Feist, Jewel, Elton John, my friend Timothy (builds and plays harps) and more on my computer and Ipod shuffle.

Yeah, Victoria, I pretty much do the ipod thing too and have about a million that I listen to. I thought I'd go all retro and talk whole albums.

The little river band greatest hits (fav LRB song: Cool change, it's probably my fav song of all time)

Elton John's greatest hits 1970-2002 (fav Elton song: I guess why they call it the blues)

Def leppard, Pyromania, I love every song on this album

Def leppard, rock of ages, (cause I love Def leppard)

Michael Jackson, History

The Commodores greatest hits, love the commodores too hard to pick a fav.

Stevie Wonder, the definitive collection (fav song, I wish)

The Carpenters, love songs, (fav song, Superstar)

John Lennon, Lennon legend, (fav song Woman, and Watching the wheels)

Fleetwood Mac, greatest hits, (fav song, Gypsy)

Jim Croce, photographs and memories (fav song, Roller derby queen, and I'll have to say I love you in a song)

Bee Gees, number one's (fav song Too hard to pick just one)

James Taylor, James Taylor, (fav song, You've got a friend and Shower the people)

Billy Joel, the very best, (fav song, Just the way you are)

Culture club, the best of, (fav song, Time, clock of the heart)

So just put it Movin' Easy on Sirius radio or the 70's station, I'm a happy girl...but I do sing along, and I know all the words.

I'm another one who can't give you a top 5, music was a very real part of my life growing up - I took lessons for years. I have everything from ambient to zydeco, from blues to industrial.

I thought of this thread and all the Aussies out there, when I bought the Midnight Oil Collection on iTunes. it just came out & the old albums have been re-mastered. it sounds great! You should check it out!

IMO, I think this is the best band to come out of Australia, better than INXS ! I just purchased some of their old albums before they sold out and man, they were a great punk rock band! I'm digging it on my ipod right now! Songs from Bird Noises & 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1

Can't believe no one else mentioned Bruce! His pre-Born in the USA stuff is great! Some Bon Jovi and U2...I'm too much of an 80's chick.

Peter Garret is now a Federal Government Minister - Most of Midnight Oil Songs were based around political and enviromental Issues - Great Music with a Message..!
