Sandie and I are leaving tomorrow, Sep 18/th for Picton,Ontario and have some "chores" to do along the way.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible...I think BBJ, Sheila, and the Conference Committee, have done a REMARKABLE job, in the wake of a couple of "challenges" and this 2003 version, should be the best one yet.
I'm very much looking forward to meeting my florist friends there, and we'll have signage up for you for directions!!
In the meanwhile, and hoping that Hurricane Isabel goes elsewhere, it would be advisable to have a flashlight or two, some extra "basic" supplies, and umbrellas/raingear...just in case!!
Safe journey...meet you there...
Mike and Sandie

See you there. I was also wondering about Isabel showing up. I htought last year it was the same. Bad weather one night.
Safe trip to everyone going...

Marg and I are leaving Friday morning....registered for golf too, so look out if that wind (Isabel) catches my ball it may end up anywhere. Oh yah I was told FTD is bringing towels!!! they must have known it was going to rain??

We're leaving Friday morning at 8ish, we're hoping ot arriving around 6 - weather will definately be a factor.,

I'm VERY PROUD....

of the entire OFC organizing committee this year, for the yeoman's effort, and success of this years OFC 2003!!
In ALL adversaries, there are challenges, in ALL successes that adversity that is overcome, and the final result this year of this year's 2003 Ontario Florists Conference has the entire OFC board hopping, excited, and ready to go for NEXT YEAR.
The board hopes that you enjoyed the resort venue, and the staff and owners of Isaiah Tubbs Resort and Conference Centre, appeared relaxed and confident with the attendees to OFC, because the florists, their families, and the sponsors all behaved themselves, and left the resort intact....the owners appreciated that!!
Sandie and I met old friends, and we met new friends...the thing nearest and dearest to our hearts, all else is secondary!
Mark Nance, Sue, Lisa, and Richard were all there from Teleflora, making their usual valuable contribution to OFC, and Richard was ESPECIALLY funny to be with this past weekend.
Frank Stornelli, Caroline, Tim, and Michael White, of FTD have to be the BEST FTD contingent I have seen, all working together, as a team, making the OFC attendees feel welcome, and INCLUDED!
Peter, from Blossoms' Network finally got to see first hand, what it IS, that creature we lovingly call Ontario Florists Conference...I'm pretty sure he is impressed enough to become a major sponsor for nest year's OFC 2004, and REALLY had a chance to devulge his dream to anybody that would listen, and from HIS reports, some DID listen with interest...good for YOU Peter!!
Anna, and the reps from Flowers Canada, did an OUTSTANDING JOB, delivering what I believe to be the message that ALL FLORISTS need to hear....to be successful, in THIS industry ( or any for that matter), we CANNOT be "islands"...we HAVE to be part of a "structured" chain, and the MORE links we add, the STRONGER we become, and MORE diversified our "sources" of information!!
A very special THANK YOU to Sheila Olsen, John Vanbruinessen, Marvin Chapman, Julia Scotland, Cathie McCabe, Bruce Vandersluuys, Italo Paris, Jack Henderson, Cliff Byrnes, and Mary Jane Posno as THIS YEAR'S OFC organizing committee...what a GREAT TEAM you are, what a GREAT JOB you did, what a GREAT FEELING you inspired in ALL of us!!
Mother nature was both un-cooperative, and glorious at the same time...she SURE IS BOSS!!
Those florist friends that were UNABLE to attend...it's hopeful you can make it NEXT YEAR!!
Mike and Sandie:)

For those that missed it, Richard managed to convince someone that the lovely Anna from FC happened to be his young wife (if you haven't seen Richard & Anna ... there is just no way to describe how wrong that would be). This poor florist got caught up in a conversation on the possibility of Anna & Richard having children! Anna had the good grace to say they planned to adopt :)

Ryan, if Janis still red from the conversations she had with me?????
I love it...
Luc

Thanks to all the boardies here for making my first conference such a pleasant experience.

Special thanks to Ryan and Janis for giving me that Daisy demo - it was very much appreciated.

HAHAH! It was too funny, and then Richard complained he didn't win anything that weekend, well I thought he was doing well with his Young Wife. hahaha!

Glad to help. I'm going to PDF some of our forms to send over to you. I'm at an install tomorrow, but I'll try for Wednesday.

Thank you, I appreciate the additional info.

I'm at home today, I'm paying for all the allergy medication I had to take at the conference.

Perfume allergies suck mossy rocks.
