Hello to All.

I am working with orchids in corsages for the first time and wondered if it would be possible to use the same glue techniques on them as you do other flowers? I am wanting to "pre-make" the corsage bases tonight and then just be able to glue the orchids in place tomorrow morning before delivery. Will the orchids keep as well as if they were wired in place?

Thanks for the input!

Go for it Bitty!
The orchids will last just as well!
Spray them with a touch of hawiian mist or crowning glory if you have it and you could make those corsages today even!
Have fun!!!

Hey Bitty!!

Yup, we glue them the same way that we glue any other flowers, spray them with hawaiian mist, cover them very loosely with tissue paper and pop them in the highest spot in our cooler. In my experience, they keep better than when you wire them. I have used just about every orchid imaginable in corsages.

Good Luck!

We use glue on all our corsages - including orchids and they hold up very well. Has anyone tried any shortcuts for pin-on corsages? We still wire those and was wondering if there are any new "techinques" anyone has tried that savew time...

Corsages

For pin on corsages, I usually make a basic wired corsage, but, only wire in the largest blooms and background....than, I glue in all the other blooms and fillers. It keeps the whole product much lighter to wear.

Hi!
The only thing we wire anymore is a bout!
For "pin on" corsages we will make a back out of tulle or angel hair wire and bullion then glue your bow or ribbons to that, then glue any greenery and then flowers and accessories. The client can then pin the corsage on through the tulle or angel hair wire. We do not use pins in our corsages unless the client has a really limited budget. We really like using corsage magnets. They work great and it saves the client from putting holes in their dress. This is a good selling point too! Try them you will love em!

magnets are great as long as they don't have a pacemaker!

LOL! Too true! I love the magnets but I always always always ask if anyone has a pacemaker.

That's basically what we do. Wire the largest blooms (e.g., full sized roses), and glue everything else. We use Oasis Floral Adhesive.

How do we know that it's really Friday? We're working on Saturday's corsages!

Hi all,

Attached are some photos that were requested.
Please be kind as I am a florist not a photographer:hammer:
I hope they are of some value to you!
