Wow! We usually don't have this kind of excitement at local funeral homes.

Visitation for Mr. X started at 10:00 AM. I arrived at 9:05 with a late delivery. I was standing in the flower room signing the log when two police offers swooshed through the outside door and past me, telling me to "Stay where you are" as they passed through the interior door into the funeral home. I looked out the outside door - two more cruisers pulling up.

By the yelling I can tell that the problem is that the deceased's wedding ring is missing off his finger and that one of the family members has taken it. Fisticuff's ensue, family is in a total uproar and the police are...wait for it..patting down/frisking family members and handcuffs are being whipped out.

I got the heck out of dodge before it could escalate any further - mercy, what a situation!

That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I am still laughing.

In my mind while I read that story.. next to the monkey picking fleas off the other monkey.... there was a guy playing some 'dukes of hazard' type banjo music.

Yeeeeeeeeehawwww!

Yes, death seems to bring out the best of wild and wacky in families.

Well, my first thought is not for polite company! :)

My second thought... probably still not for polite company, but my general attitude towards fortunes... they should all be treated your way.;)

Barb that is the funniest thing I've heard today! Funerals do bring out the worst in people. Sounds like an episode for "Cops" or perhaps "Reno 911"

All in a days work....Right? Thanks for the chuckle. Like as already been said, death brings out some doozies!
