painting leaves

Sounded like a good idea at the time I was all jazzed up and selling the idea,
but, now that I am experiementing, it isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

I am doing a Bat Mitzvah. The design has a lime green kermit ball and two leaves
at the base that were to be spray painted in a camophloge theme.
I have a stencil, but, can't get it to spray clean on the leaf, there is a lot
of overspray and it looses it's effect.
Any tips ? Thanks for any ideas.

How about using faux leaves - make them from camo printed paper instead - then it's just lots of cutting. Maybe mix them with some fresh leaves, so they're masked a little more ....

Maybe use acrylic craft paint. Daub it on with a sponge dauber to blend the colors a bit.
