we have a new girl at the shop she's 18.
18 year olds have a way of knowing tech stuff that I don't, ya know, 'cause I'm old...

Anyway, so she tells us about "pandora radio"
We've been listening to itunes at the shop. I'm over itunes...

So with Pandora radio, you can created your own radio station.
How freakin' cool is that!!!

I have me a "commodores" radio station, Cause I like old soul/funk music.

Then I created me another station with the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Elton John, Stevie Nicks the Little river band, etc.., Oh yeah baby listening to it right now...

If you don't know about pandora radio, you're missing out.
And if it's old hat, don't make fun of me. I'm old.
 
Where do you find it? And does it cost money? :)

It's my new favorite thing.

that and dill pickle flavored sunflower seeds. or really any flavored sunflower seeds.

I miss Pandora, I used a US address but they got wise and blocked Canadian IPs
 
Dumb Question,
This station can only be streamed through computer?
Can it be downloaded to an ipod?

I don't even know how an ipod works, I never even touched one!!

I don't know about using an ipod with it, I suspect not. You can, however, send it to certain AT&T and Sprint phones. If you do so be sure you have the unlimited data plan.

Old Crooners, classical, rock, blues, new age. Its all there. I can change my music with my moods instead of letting the radio set my mood.
 
I'm a fan of last.fm (http://www.last.fm), which is a similar concept. With Last.FM, if you hear something you like, you can click on a link to buy the song from Amazon. Since Amazon sells unprotected MP3s, they'll play on any device--iPod, Rio, Zune, PC, etc.

Also, if you want to get fancy, you can use a patch cable to hook the speaker jack on your PC to your stereo, and stream through your shop.
 
Logan, my son tells me that if you go to a proxy server, choose a US based anonymous ip and set the network settings on your computer you can use pandora. I haven't bothered yet so I'm assuming that it will work!

Thanks for that Rock:flower:, will look into that, I guess it would be the same for you in Canada.
