Back on April 8th, we were running out of merc paper so we called the new supplier (North American) and ordered one case and asked for a catalog. Two days later, we get a catalog but no paper. So we call them, they say, oh you didn't order paper, just a catalog so we order a case of paper. They promised us we'd have the paper for Easter. HAHAHAHA.

Today, FedEX waltzes in with TWO (2) cases of paper - overnight delivery (ya, roight!). We're going to be stuck with this extra case FOREVER. So being slightly miffed (you photocopy orders for a major holiday and we'll see how thrilled you are:mad: ), I call Frank Stornelli and he says "I'll fix it". Within a half an hour, we're all resolved. FTD will arrange for FedEx to pick up the extra case at their expense and it's 'we're so very sorry'. Nice to actually get a quick resolution on this one, so... Thank you, Frank!

Was it custom paper Audra with your shops name? It's nice to see the problem handled. If it had been non custom paper, I would have bought it. Never can have toooo much paper!

It was two part merc 8x51/2 paper for a dot matrix. It's single purpose paper, you can't write on it worth beans. At $90 a case CDN, it's expensive scratch paper.

I have a couple of dot matrix's around, great printers for printing cheaply. My question is why is it $90.00 a case? I should be in the paper business too if that's the case. :)

It's $90 a case because the Canadian dollar gets a lousy exchange rate.

Well what I'm getting at is this, excluding the exchange factor, it seems the price is too high unless it's some very special quality paper, even if it's two part paper.

No arguments that the paper is overpriced but it's one of those 'we need it' things. It's like print cartridges, do I like paying $100 for black and color cartridges - no. But I have to do it anyway.

Audra, Do you really need that special paper. For the cost of saving dollars go to your business depot, get a case of the 8 x11" paper and cut it when the message is over. WAY lots cheaper and it will work in your machine.
THe advantage of that size paper is a: when you get a long long message from FTD you will have it on one page. Same with orders. Paper folds in half and use the extra for notes on people desk.

Oh god, not that please. Our system requires TWO part paper. I *need* two copies of each order for our filing system... we'd done what you say in emergency but it means I have to photocopy each order - I don't have time for that sort of thing. The two part (carboned) paper is a must.

Well all I can say Audra, THe Daisy system will save you time and money in the long run....

:) Not at the 25K they want to sell it to us for. We're going to go with the sane option of FlowerSoft (1) once it's got a full canadian version (2) later this year.

It'll be about a 20K savings after we buy the pcs - we can do a lot of things with that 20K.
