Peonies in Autumn

I have a bride who wants peonies in late August. My wholesaler laughed at me so I suggested that maybe we could do open garden roses for the same look. I am wondering, though, if it is at all physically possible to get a peony at that time of year at a higher cost from a non-local source?

I agree try New Zealand market, maybe via Dutch outlets.
You just need to start looking, try two sources.

I have a late June bride who wants them. Very small wedding, I haven't even called my wholesaler to find out yet. Is that too late?

I have a local vendor who grows them. I will try to remember to ask him if he ships them. He said that they are late this year, in fact they haven't even started yet. That tells me that they might be still on late June.

good luck, the Paeonia season doesn't start here in NZ until november, August is late winter here=Cymbidium Season (can't wait!)
