Peony help!

Help! Please...

I have some peonies for a wedding this Saturday and they are not opening up... I got them on Monday and treated them in water and have not put them in the fridge. Out of 150 blooms, I have may 10 that have opened!!

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to make them open up?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Lally.
Have you tried hot water ( not too hot perhaps, but warm) and a warm and light place. That could do the trick. But maybe they are just cut off the plant too soon. We have had some trouble with peonies. But if the peony bud is big it should bloom soon as you probably know face :tongue

You can also try forcefully dunking the head into water a few times only if they are showing alot of color. To get them to color put in warm water and pull a clear poly bag over them and tie it and stick it in a brigh spot not direct sun the extra humidity and heat will make them ripen.

we just had a peonie wedding this past weekend - huge huge wedding !!

We placed them in very warm water after cutting and left them out of the cooler

they opened up very quickly we did fluff a few open that needed some help and they looked very nice.
