Getting ready with some ideas for "outdoor" arrangements to present at the lecture hall at the Phila Flower Show.

I have some ideas already in place, but during the presentation, while working on the arrangement, you have to be somewhat entertaining!
so glad I kept my notes from the last 3 years. It's an hour, well 45 minutes, trying to leave 15 minutes for questions and clean up.

any quick and interesting pieces you guys/gals have done?

I'm doing a spring window box, and a Fall basket, with corn on the cob, sun flowers and ghords and some assorted stemmed wine glasses filled with fruits and flowers.

Any good jokes to go with any arrangement?
The theme for 2010 is:
Passport to the World, so we can run with that. I absolutely have to do something with those sturdy "Canadian Gerbs" too.

Don't get too comfortable "Canada", the US Hockey Team, Olympics, is on the ice tonight!
GO USA !!!

I never post icons, but where is the USA flag and the Canadian Flag?

Duane, is that a new language? I thought it was "eh".

Okay, sorry everybody.

Marie, since the theme is Passport around the world, you could do something from, say Hawaii, and use those "Little Boy Flowers", (I think they are call anthurium). Just a little joke around here, we don't get out much!

Your spring window box could be set for Spain, since they have such a large presence of window boxes. You could add fans to "set the scene" or iron grillwork.

How about the mechanics being stored in a battered suitcase with different stickers on it? You could announce your "next call of port" or something.

Just off the top of my head, now is a good time to pick brains, they're all gooey and mushy except you poor Brits - I never realized you had to walk right into Mother's Day right after Valentine's. Yeesh!

Linday at Anytime Flowers,
Off the top of your head, right to my notes.
I have a Vintage Suitecase, that I stored my vintage this and that stuff in. Well it's coming out of hiding for the flower show, and it has some "port" stickers on it too.

Yes, the Hawaiin flowers, have been called "little boy" flowers around here too. Might pull one of those together too. I actually did a Hawaiin themed presentation for a nursing home group and we did a lei and a wrist and ankle floral piece. It was fun.

Love the ideas, Thanks so much!

Have fun in Philadelphia...I really enjoyed my time there with the AIFD booth!!! I've no doubt that what ever you do, it will be great.

Re: the hockey game... sorry, but it's Canada all the way.
I've got it on right now, waiting for the puck to drop.
This is, after all, OUR GAME!!
(Although I am a bit scared of Ryan Millar)
