I was wondering how you would make the water pink in a vase. I have a bride that wants to change the color of the water to pink but am unsure what to use. There will be no flowers in the water just a floating candle. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Kristin

I too am having this dilemma. I have tried 1 to 15 drops of red in frosted and clear vases. I can't get the darn water pink.

Strawberry juice? Just straight in the water?

Will have to do some experimenting tonight. will let everyone know how it comes out. thanks!

Yeah i used to have that problem all the time with the red so when i need pink i just use the strawberry diluted cordial juice. I have attached a link to show you the colour, bottom left picture, i deliberately did not shake the vase as i like the way the colour blended upwards.

Wouldn't the electrolytes kill the flowers though??I'm wondering if they hold up for all that time?

Eventually Aileen....Yes, the chemicals, elctrolytes, and the like would cause damage to the flowers.......but if you are using the gatorade for a party or short term....No problem.

Now, You can go to most any craft store like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc......and go to the cake decorating section.....they have myriads of food dye options. My personal favorite is a gel dye.....You take a bamboo wood skewer, dip it into the gel dye, then swirl it around in your vase of water.....You can get most any color you want.

We will find out how long they will last....my lab is open.

In doing the experimentation.......I have used koolaid and gatorade for different effects over the years.......take into account the typical time flowers in colored water are seen at a party.

Also, Unless I am badly mistaken.......I think Accent Decor and some of the other companies offer a specially made european water coloring.....specifically designed and forumalated to use with fresh flowers.
