We were recently given some photos off the web of puppies made of poms. I've just searched FlowerChat archives to see if anyone had instructions for this after experimenting with some dead carns (we had a good laugh) and found that a while back someone else had been looking for instructions, this had been discussed, but no instructions were posted. Can anybody help? We think they'd be really popular here.

Please contact Cathy Hillen-Rulloda in Fullerton CA< Avante GArdens Florals Unique, you can google her, and ask about her doggie boaky, I think she ahs some sort of marketing tool to sell about them or something.
Hope this helps out.

If you look at the flowerchat gallery I(Artistry in Bloom) have some pictures posted of some of my puppies and a teddy bear.
I will be doing up a bunny this afternoon. I haven't done a bunny before so we'll see how it turns out.
Anyway, I do my puppies differently from the other ones because they are larger and I first carve the shape from oasis and put the flowers on that.
I use either chrysanthemums or carnations and sometimes another flower like a mini cym for the ears.
I am going to try using a calla lily for the bunny ear this afternoon.
Hope this information helps you.

It must be time to go home. Every time I click "unread posts", I glance through and see "porn puppies" not "pom puppies". And then I giggle a little like Beavis or Butthead.

Dianne,

I look forward to seeing this bunny with calla ears!! Keep us posted!

Thank you for the helpful tips. I LOVE Flowerchatters! You know, come to think of it, the porn puppies might sell even better.....

Pom/Carn Puppies

We had requests for Doggy Flowers from a Condo Complex--They send flowers when an owner's Dog Dies--found these on the web--They were easy to duplicate--Hope this helps--
We liked the carnation version better than the mums!!

Hi Aileen,

I am finally getting around to posting this picture for you. I didn't like the calla ears. They were not big enough for floppy bunny ears so I used Easter Lilies.
I wasn't too happy with the end result but the girl that got it was thrilled so I guess that's all that counts.

The pom dog does look like a fuzzy little dog.How cute.

Now that does look like a bunny, can you tell how you made it?

I must be some sort of sicko pervert :ssmoke ....several times I thought the heading said Porn Puppies :help:
there is a porn puppy thread too ...:faint:

Hi Ellen,

I basically made it the same way I make my puppies and teddy bears except that the puppies are usually lying in the basket instead of sitting up.
I first carve out the shape in oasis and then add the flowers, eyes, etc.You can also make them without oasis but I prefer this way because they are a bit more lifelike.I guess it depends on how much your customer wants to pay .The other ones are less expensive to make so I do them either way.

Hi Carrieann,

It depends on the size but in this case it was almost life size. The body was just under a block. I used the left over for the legs and then cut about a third of another block for the head.I attach the pieces with dowels or even branches to keep them firmly together before adding the flowers.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try. I have a friend that will go nuts over something like this.
