George Carman has had cystic fibrosis for many years. A father of one precious girl, he has been on the donor list for 158 days. Last night he received word of a match in New York City and currently is being prepped for surgery. This man has continued his volunteer firefighting position in the small town of New Gloucester Maine even with his handicap. A fund raising committee started many years ago called "New Lungs for George" is headed by his father in law (a Millinocket native) and has been an active ongoing fundraising machine to help offset the large medical bills. Prayers for George and Amy (his wife) while they go through this treacherous time...

10PM EST.. update : out of surgery into intensive care. Next 48 hours critical but all went well...... double dose of prayers are needed !! Thanks all :)

Praying! I sent the newspaper link to my pastors son whose wife has CF and received a double lung transplant a few years ago! Their story is amazing as she was pregnant and in need of new lungs and they took the baby at 24 weeks and both survived! God is sooooo great!

George is impressing his doctors. Sitting up in a chair, they've removed his breathing tube, he was talking.... So far so great! Absolutely amazing what modern medicine can do sometimes. It's a long rehab and watching for rejection but so far everyone is up beat! Thanks for the prayers...
