Prom corsage pictures

I missed some. We did double of what we normally do this year. Kids let us do designers choice. Lots of fun.

here are 3 of my favorites (out of the few I was able to take a picture of)
I loved using those little rhinestone hearts- they were so cute attached to the ribbons.

Glad you could use the berries I tried that for a prom show we had and the girls all said make them without the berries or they called them peas LOL. Did try the dendro orchids here this year and they went over very well. But the old stand by of baby roses tipped in some god awful color is still the hot item.

Lizi - What is that spiky greenery you have used in your corsages? Very Nice!

To those of you who have used feathers - How soon can you make those? Does the humidity of a cooler mess them up? Are these special feathers purchased from a wholesaler or something you can get at a craft store?

Thanks!

Depends on the feathers, I find maribou is very affected by moisture but long feathers not so much...

Here are a bunch of my favs

Loving this thread, very inspiring. i am currently trying to get into the prom business and also trying some deluxe corsage work like you all do.

Please keep all the pics coming, I have nothing to add really as yours really do put mine to shame but i am trying.

Hey, here's a question. Do you have to do fresh corsages as i am thinking of having a range of silks for the prom girls to just buy as they are. What do you think?

Hi Paula,

In regards to your question about silks. Yes, definately do them up. I usually have some done so that the kids can really see what they are getting. I don't know if you would actually get people to buy them except for emergencies.............sorry, I just thought, "Holy Crap, why don't I make some for those who are too last minute on MD week-end. Why NOT have some silks made up, desperation may lead to rescuing kids and lost sales. Wow, thanks Paula!

I was actually going to say don't count on selling them, but why not have prices on them? I have prices on most of my displays and am not above selling some that are NOT priced.

I say go for it. Just a side note, though, the fancy ones are expected here.

Thanks Linda. I have actually made some up this week and plan to do some kind of area with them all on a stand and all the ribbons and bling attached, a bit like you all do here. I really am inspired by the American/Canadian way of doing corsages and could learn a lot!! I think i will attach prices to them.

A lot of my mob and mog are having them as well so it is a great way to upsell...

Years ago we made up a black fabric board with silk samples of our corsages and bouts and made a whole display of ribbons and bracelets they can choose from. It really helps them visualize and speeds up the sale. Often thought of taking the display to the schools the week or two before prom/homecoming to sell during lunch time, but never quite have the manpower to do it. I know, I should just make it happen! Anyway, Paula, over the years, I have sold several silk corsages for girls who wanted the keepsake. So it's not out of the realm of possible.
