Can you believe it? all three highschools out of 4 in our area are having the Prom on June 1st 2004. The 4th one is June 2, 2004.

Most of us here in the US are off from work Sunday and Monday (May 30-31) for this National Holiday.

Tuesday June 01 2004 will be loaded with the phones ringing off the hook for those last minute corsage orders.

What a bunch of Idiots that run the show within our School District.

I'm going to raise the bar by Increasing our prices since I know that these students are not going to order EARLY.

Our's

are all next week...

Minus two that were last week....

So glad we wrote the student councils years ago...

Ours is June 4th. They have not had it Mother's Day weekend in many years - not sure why. Last year it was Memorial weekend, but it was Thursday night.

I have in an attempt to either reduce the number OR make them more profitable increased our prices 10% each year for the last couple years...this will be the third I think...

Does not seem to make a difference...our average is now around 22.50 per corsage, and MANY this year over 30.00 with those da*n lights....

With them renting Hummer Limos and the like, I plan to get MY share, and ALL the LABOR I have into them !!!

proms after memorial day

Guess we are the lucky ones. Our major two schools have theirs on the same night which is a little hairy but over in one fell swoop ...... but ours is on a Tuesday night (so I can work peacefully on Sunday) usually the second or third week of June .... a week before all the big NB cities have theirs ... so we get the best of the flowers and don't seem to have too much problem getting what we want because we are earlier than the rest of the florists. We don't have to fight to get white roses!

Our Prom has been on Mother's Day since some mother decided that her daughter didn't have enough time to get ready after her track meet the same day so she became the advisor and changed the date. It was always Memorial Day prior to that. Now that Memorial Day is a "silk flower holiday" and every garage and truck is selling them on the sides of the streets, our Memorial Day is nothing. I'd love to get the school to change the date of the prom but they won't. I'm just glad that this year most of the kids stop at the first shop on the street and I had a dozen corsages. With 4 funerals, Mother's Day, a wedding and those few corsages, I'm sleeping in tomorrow.
