I looked at the flowerbuyer website and wanted to purchase Purple Hydrangea. The site said blue so I called my representative and she said that blue would be the purple color that I am looking for, then I said "Well there is also a light blue hydrangea and i want to make sure that is not what I am getting...she had no answer. Can anybody help me?

Ask her for 'POPCORN' hydranga..it comes in pink and a lavender..clsoest "purple " I have seen that has a decent stem lenght...the hybrid hydranga in the purples and green with the bigger heads seem to have shorter stem length from where we get them.
Trying to explain the difference to vendors about lavender vs pink and pink vs lavender is an ongoing issue...makes me nuts!

the only "blue" i've ever received from them is the light blue. Consider getting white and painting - hydrangea looks very natural when painted.

light blue

is your answer. The only varieties offered by FB are out of South AMerica and they at this point are only offering the white, light blue, mini greens and large greens.
but, chuck is correct in that these hydrangeas do take paint very well, many times last summer we were "forced" to color the light blues to a lavendar tint, when our california varieties either didn't come in or came in sub-par when it came to quality.
good luck

We too only get light blue, white, or green from FlowerBuyer. We do color them with Just for Flowers.
