Puting a Bible in a casket Spray

make a styrofoam base that tilts forward. also make sure you have a water barrier between the bible and the casket spray. Styrofoam might accomplish both.

I would put it open facing the person under her hands.

Just like she is reading it.

I've done Bibles before.

I just cover the Bible's cover with plastic to prevent water damage and it's the first thing I put into the spray. If the family wants it open to a certain page I just take a very thin piece of wire and use it to hold back the pages beneath the actual page. That way the Bible is held open but you can't see the wire.

I use hyacinth stakes to hold the bible in place and then cover my mechanics with flowers/foliage.

I would use a design board and cut out the shape in the centre and cover it for protection. I would then put it in tilted forward slightly and then cover the rest of the design board with loose flowers.

I understand the covering it for protection but why tilt it forward. I guess I wanted to have it laying open so people can read it kind of like on a book stand.

I meant as in tilt it so that people could see it, you know put something underneath it a little so it raises up above the foam.

In the Uk we dont have everything on stands though, our stuff lies flat, well a lot of it. If you have legs on it then you probably wouldnt need to tilt it??

I've done that numerous times. - Here is what I do. I first open the bible to the required passage. ( Before you wrap the bible....lay the bible on top of the saranwrap FACE DOWN. ) I then wrap the open bible in clear food wrap ( like saranwrap ). This protects the bible itself. I then cut a double square or rectangular piece of corrogated cardboard the same size as the bible fully open. I then place the double layer behind the bible cover and wrap the entire thing in the clear food wrap. If you are concerned about the wrapping coming loose, then at this point.....go all the way around the top and bottom of the wrapped package with clear scotch tape. The food wrap SHOULD cling to itself....but sometimes it doesn't.

TO mount in the casket spray - I take hyacinth stakes ( the 18 inch long stakes ) and INSERT 4 of them into the small holes of the corrogated cardboard for stability. I pull the stakes back out of the holes and dips them in glue and re-insert. I then take and insert the stakes into the casket spray foam at an appropriate viewing angle.

Thanks for the help. Does wrapping it in clear wrap make it look different I guess. They haven't brought me the bible yet ?
Also has anyone put daffodils in a casket spray? I'm thinking of maybe of using water tubes on them.

The clear food wrap protects the bible......and is thinner plastic than cellophane......makes it look a little neater.

For daffodils in a casket spray - There is a thread in the design forum covering that very thing.

Well someone not even in the floral business gave me and idea. I took foam core board and built a book holder out of it and sprayed it with wood tone spray and then glue and taped skewers to the back and but it in the casket spray. Of course they wanted the bible open to almost the last page so it needed a little help to hold it in there but it worked. sorry ditn't get a picture the family never got the bible to me till almost 2 and needed to get it t funeral home by 3. Just one of those days when things went to hell in a hand basket.

I wish I could describe what I did I'll give it a try I cut the foam board about 5x7 and then made a piece 1x7 and then a piece 1/2 inch by 7 and glued them together like a book stand and it worked really well. I thought at least this way the bible is up and above the foam so as not to get wet either.
Hope this helps anyone else out there.
